House. Early C18, possibly encasing older structure, with early and mid-
C19 additions and early C20 alterations. Brick, plain tiled roofs with
gable end parapets; large external chimney at rear centre and additional
chimneys at left end and rear centre and right. Central range two storeys,
attic and cellar with taller end bays; two-bay C18 house with single-bay
additions at both gable ends. Front elevation: central part has fine
moulded wood modillion eaves cornice, two ground and first floor 16-pane
sashes with moulded architraves and cambered heads and a central entrance
with open pediment, entablature and panelled pilasters and door with four
raised and fielded panels and raised and fielded reveals. Three-storey
addition to left with brick modillion eaves cornice; windows have cambered
heads, and all are tripartite. Right side addition has full-height two-
storey canted bay, with parapet, which was added in the early C20; all
windows have moulded architraves, ground floor ones are 15-pane sashes,
first floor ones are glazing bar sashes and there are recessed rectangular
panels in parapet above. Interior much altered. Many additions at rear.
A fine topiary garden lies to the front of the house.
