Cottage. C15 origins, rebuilt C17, mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and
additions. Part dressed sandstone, part timber-framed with painted brick
infill, rendered, plain tiled roof and external brick stack at left gable
end. Two framed bays; single storey and attic. Framing: collar-and-tie-
beam trusses with queen struts visible in gable ends. Front elevation:
ground floor has a 3-light and a 2-light casement; entrance in left bay
has ledged and battened door with moulded architrave and a gabled timber
porch. Attic lights in gable ends. Interior: roof has single row of
trenched purlins and intermediate collar-and-tie-beam truss; part of
former cruck frame survives in left side wall-frame; main beams are stop-
chamfered.
