Farmhouse, now house. Late C16 with mid-C19 and early C20 alterations.
Timber-framed, brick and rendered wattle-and-daub infill, brick refacing
and replacement walling, plain tiled roofs, paired star-shaped brick
stacks to main ridge and external brick stack with offsets and star-shaped
shaft with cogged course at base to rear left. H-plan; hall of two framed
bays with inserted chimney forming lobby-entry plan in east bay and with
two framed bay wing at east gable end and single bay wing at west gable
end; two storeys. Framing: exposed at rear; hall has retained upper two
rows of square panels; east cross-wing gable end has four square panels
from sill to wall-plate and a collar-and-tie-beam truss with queen struts;
west cross-wing gable end has a similar truss. Front elevation: 1:2:1
windows, ground floor of central part has a 3-light casement; two gabled
half-dormers with cross-casements; main entrance now moved from previous
lobby-entry position at right side and situated to right of centre; 6-
panelled door and moulded architrave; 3-light casements in gable ends;
a mid-C19 one with a cambered head is retained on the first floor of the
right hand gable end. Interior: main beams are stop-chamfered; cross-
beamed ceiling to front ground floor of east wing; back-to-back inglenook
sandstone fireplaces. A C19 single storey kitchen wing adjoins to rear
right.
