Cottage. Cl7 or earlier, restored mid-C20. Timber-framed, painted brick
infill, brick refacing and replacement walling, sandstone rubble base, plain
tiled roof with external brick stack at right gable end. Single framed bay
survives of earlier house; two storeys. Framing: irregular panels from
sill to wall-plate, long straight braces in lower corners and collar-and-
tie-beam truss at right gable end with queen struts. Front elevation: windows
all C20; two round and one first floor casement; main entrance is single
storey and attic, hipped roof extension adjoining left gable end, the front
elevation of which has a 3-light casement with cambered head, a lean-to
porch on timber uprights adjacent to the older part and, at the left end,
a projecting wing with paired double garage doors and a loft door.
