4/223 Pulley Farmho use

Farmhouse. c1600, with mid-C19 alterations. Timber-framed, brick infill
and replacement walling, dressed sandstone rubble plinth, plain tiled roof,
two brick ridge stacks. Probably a former hall and cross-wing type plan,
hall range of three framed bays on roughly a north/south axis, with a
cross-wing of two framed bays at south gable end; shortly afterwards, single
bay wings were added to the north gable end, and to the south side elevation
of the cross-wing, continuing the roofline; also a wing was added to the rear
of the original north end bay of two framed bays, one bay of which has been
demolished. Two storeys, attic and cellar. Framing: four square panels
from sill to wall-plate, some short straight braces in upper corners, long
straight braces in north gable end, collar-and-tie-beam trusses with queen
struts. East elevation: gable added to the original north end bay; three
C19 casements survive and a doorway into the cross-wing gable end. Interior
not accessible as in dangerous condition at time of survey. (Structure in
derelict and unstable condition November 1984).
