House. Circa cl600 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-framed with
painted brick and rendered infill on limestone rubble base, painted brick
replacement walling and refacing, some limestone rubble walling and plain
tiled roof with ridge stack to south of centre and at south end. Five framed
bays aligned north/south; large brick chimney with offsets to rear of central
bay to north of which is a rear two-bay wing. Two storeys and attic with
dormers. Framing: four panels from sill to wall-plate (some panels have sub-
sidiary studding), and collar and tie-beam truss at north end with three struts
to lower collar. Rear wing has a row of rectangular panels at first floor level,
swept lower corner braces and a collar and tie-beam truss with two struts at
its west end. East front elevation: ground floor has two 3-light windows with
transoms and two cross-casements and there is a similar arrangement on the
first floor with an additional cross-casement above the entrance; two C19
gabled dormers with 2-light casements. Main entrance in central bay has a
gabled tiled porch on shaped brackets and a half-glazed door. C19 and C20
single-storey additions at rear. Interior not inspected.
