Group of six dwellings. Late C18, altered and extended c1900 probably by
Richard Norman Shaw. Coursed limestone rubble and plain tiled roofs with
south gable-end parapet and large brick ridge stacks. L-plan. Two storeys.
No 9 (facing east): one plus three bays; left bay projects as gabled wing.
Main three-bay part has a ground floor canted bay window with leaded case-
ments and also a 2-light ground floor casement with a cambered head; there
are three first floor 2-light casements. Central entrance has a moulded
cornice, three roundels decorating the lintel and a 5-panelled partly-
glazed door. The projecting bay to the left has a 16-pane sash on both
floors of its east gable end and a 2-light casement on both floors in the
angle with the main part (the ground floor window has a cambered head).
Adjoining to rear right and facing south are Nos 10, 11 and 12: five bays;
windows are all 2-light casements and have cambered heads. The first floor
windows have small gables above them except for the window in the second bay
which has no gable and a square head. There are three doorways with cambered
heads and ledged and battened doors. The left doorway has a lean-to porch
with large moulded brackets on stone corbels [similar to Nos 4, 5, 7 & 8
Church Row (north side) (qv)]. At the left end is the south gable end of
No 4 which has a 2-light casement with cambered head on both floors. Nos
13 and 14 are situated in the angle between the two main ranges.
