House, now four houses. Early C17, extended late C17, with some early C19
and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-frame with rendered infill on coursed rubble
plinth; machine tile roof. U-plan, flat front to street, south range consider-
ably longer than short two-bay north range. Stacks to each end of central
front range. Two storeys with attic lit by two gabled dormers to centre and
a casement in right-hand gable. Three windows, 3-light casements. Ground
floor has two canted bays and a 3-light casement to the right. Entrance to
No 41 to left of centre has a ledged and boarded door under plank weathering,
to No 44 is a C19 brick extension to left, other entrances to rear. Framing:
left-hand cross wing is three square panels high with straight angle braces,
the clasped purlin roof has three struts to the collar. Central range and
right-hand cross-wing four rectangular panels high.
