Farmhouse. C17 core remodelled during late C18, further mid-C19 and C20
alterations. Partial timber-framing to earlier core, refaced with sand-
stone rubble to rear and brick to main elevations; hipped slate roof.
Irregular plan; rectangular main house aligned north-west/south-east with
main entrance to south-east; axial stacks. Main block extends to north-
east at north-west end; further wing extends to north-west. Two storeys
with cellars and attics, dentilled eaves cornice. South-east front: central
pedimented slightly forward break with blank lunette in tympanum. Central
semi-circular headed sash window with pronounced keystone and decorative
glazing bar flanked by Venetian windows with similar detailing. Central C20
porch partially obscures semi-circular headed doorway with decorative fan-
light and six-panelled door. South-west front: central pediment with similar
blank lunette, central segmental headed casement window flanked by two-storey
canted bays with similar segmental headed 3-light casement windows. Central
C20 partly glazed lean-to porch, inner ledged door. Interior: retains large
mid-C17 framed newel staircase with twisted balusters rising through two
storeys and second C18 staircase with ramped handrails and turned balusters.
Chamfered ceiling beams are revealed in the western side of the house.
