5/69 Church Lodge


Lodge to Hanley Court (qv), now house. Probably early C19 with late C19
alterations. Sandstone rubble, Welsh slate roofs with broad eaves.
Circular plan having a two-bay south wing with a central chimney and
brick ridge stack. Part two storey, part single storey. Circular part
has a ground and first floor 3-light casement on its north side; the
ground floor window has a cambered head; shallow conical roof with cross
finial. West elevation of south wing has a 3-light and a 2-light window
and, to left, a part-glazed door; all have cambered heads. C20 brick
lean-to additions at south gable end.
