Farmhouse. Late C15 and C17, extended early C19. Timber-frame with
rendered infill, partly rendered and partly clad in brick on a coursed
rubble plinth, with tiled roof. T-plan, C15 cross-wing of two framed
bays aligned north/south with central stack. Other range C15, extended
C19, terminated at east end by a two-bay cider house placed at right-
angles. West front: of two storeys, the first floor jettied with curved
brackets. The bracket at south-west corner placed diagonally for dragon
beam, but south gable-end jetty underbuilt in brick. South front: 1 + 2
3-light casements. The entrance in angle between ranges has a lean-to
C20 wooden porch. Framing: close-studding exposed in cross-wing. Cider
house: three square panels high. Interior: exposed chamfered and stopped
ceiling beams. Cider house retains cider mill and press. (RCHM 3, p 14,
no 29).
