House. Possibly C16 or C17 with later alterations. Timber-frame with
plaster and brick infill. Thatched roof and sandstone central stack
with brick shaft. Rectangular plan with main front to west. One storey
and attic. West elevation has three windows. Two-light mid-C18 oriel on
brackets to left-hand side. Contemporary 2-light glazing bar casement to
right. Two-pane C20 window to left of roughly central four-panelled early
C20 door under gabled trellised porch. Frame has three square panels from
cill to wall-plate. Interior has heavy ceiling beam in south ground floor
room with lamb's tongue chamfer stops. Oak lintel to fireplace has straight
cut chamfer stops (RCHM, Vol III, p 109).
