Farmhouse. Probably C17 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble and
timber-frame, partly rendered. Welsh slate roofs. Sandstone and brick
stacks. L-plan with main range aligned west-south-west/east-north-east
and wing projecting southwards at east end. Two storeys. South elevation
has 2:3 windows, all mid-C20 glazing bar casements, except small left window
which has small top vents. Ground floor has 5-light mid-C20 casement to left
and two more contemporary casements in gable front. Central ledged oak C20
door under wide canopy. Large sandstone stack in sandstone gable to left
end. Frame of main range has two angle struts from posts to wall-plate and
two rows of square panels to exposed framing of first floor. Western return
of cross-wing has some close-studding. Interior noted as having panelled
ceiling formed from chamfered ceiling beam in south room of projecting wing.
Large fireplace with stone jambs. (RCHM, Vol III, p 191 - 2).
