about 50 yards north of
Bury of Hope Farmhouse
GV II
Barn and shelter shed. Mid- to late C18. Timber-framed and weatherboarded
on rubble base with brick walling at north end; plain tiled roof. Five bays
aligned north/south, central wagon bay with opposed cart entries and double
doors. Interior: three rows of square panels from sill to wall-plate, four
intermedite collar and tie-beam trusses with two struts and two tiers of
trenched purlins. Shelter shed: five bays adjoining south end of barn.
Open on west side with roof supported on arch-braced timber posts. The fourth
and fifth bays have been blocked. Included for group value with Bury of
Hope Farmhouse (qv).
