Bridge about 30 yards
south-west of
Risbury Bridge

II

Former road bridge across Hampton Brook. Probably medieval. Sandstone
rubble with ashlar dressings. Two round arches with ashlar voussoirs just
visible above ground level. The bridge is about 6 1/2 feet wide and 8 yards
long and rises only about 2 feet above ground level. It represents the
earlier course of the road before the present Risbury Bridge was built in
the C19. Its general appearance and narrowness would seem to indicate a
medieval date. (RCHM, Herefs III, p 188, item 3).
