GV II
Gate piers, gates and steps. C18. Dressed sandstone and limestone with
wrought iron. Piers are aligned roughly east/west. Five stone steps from
south to gates; two more from gates to rectangular well. Square-plan piers
with plain cappings each carry large pineapple finial. Richly scrolled and
barred single-leaved gate has cresting rising to centre and is flanked by
scrolled standards on enriched side panels. (BoE, p 99; RCHM, Vol II, p 47).
