Dower Cottage

Cottage. Probably late C17 or C18 with C19 and later alterations. Sand-
stone rubble plinth and timber-frame with plaster infill. Welsh slate roof
and extruded sandstone end stack with baking oven and detached shaft.
Rectangular three-bay plan aligned north-east/south-west. Two storeys.
North elevation has small ground floor leaded casement to right-hand side.
South elevation has three windows, leaded casements in gablets and central
entry. Frame is four square panels high from cill to raised eaves. Interior
has raking struts and collar supporting V-struts to intermediate truss beneath
raised roof. Included for group value. (RCHM, Vol III, p 88).
