SO 45 NW EARDISLAND CP UPPER HARDWICK

4/79 Barn about 20 metres
north-west of
Hardwick House

GV II

Barn, now stables. C17, with some late C20 alterations. Timber-frame with
rendered infill on a coursed rubble plinth under a slate roof. Three framed
bays aligned east/west with central former threshing floor. South front has
half-height sliding doors to the centre flanked on each side by a pair of
single-light casements. Framing: four square panels high. The gable-end
trusses have four struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex. Included
for group value.
