5/84 Yew Tree Farmhouse
and attached barn

GV II

Farmhouse and barn. C17, with some early C19 and late C20 alterations.
Timber-frame with painted brick and rendered infill on a coursed rubble
plinth under a machine-tile roof. The barn has a corrugated iron roof
and is partially weatherboarded. Three framed bay house aligned east/
west with three-bay barn to west. South front of house is of one storey
with attic lit by two framed gables to right and two 2-light casements
under the eaves to the left. Ground floor has two 3-light casements. Central
entrance has triangular canopy and a C19 ledged and boarded door. Barn to left
has weatherboarding across threshing floor entrance. Framing: all of three
square panels high, the house with straight angle braces. The gable-end truss
has two struts to the collar and V-struts in apex.
