9/97 Barn about 15 metres
north of Fields End

GV II

Barn. Early C18 with some early C19 extensions and late C20 repairs. Timber-
frame on a coursed rubble plinth with rubble gable ends, partly weatherboarded,
under a corrugated iron roof. Seven framed bays aligned north/south with a
central threshing floor. Full-height doors to threshing floor flanked by lean-
tos on farmyard (west) side. The east side has a possible horse gin at the
north end, with one canted corner, and another framed building of three bays,
probably a former cart shed, to the south end. Framing of side walls of barn
is one square panel over one rectangular panel high, with straight tension braces
