House, now post office and house. C17, refronted mid-C18 with some late
C20 restoration. Timber-frame with painted brick infill clad in painted
brick under a slate roof. Main stack to rear with brick shaft. East front
of two storeys with attic lit by two dormers with segmental roofs. Dentilled
brick cornice. Four windows, that to right in a slightly recessed wall, all
glazing bar sashes under rubbed brick heads. The ground floor has two canted
bay windows with glazing bar sashes to each side and hipped felt roofs. The
entrance between has a C20 panelled door beneath an overlight. An entrance
to passage at right-hand end has a semi-circular head. Framing: exposed on
north gable has two struts to collar in truss. (RCHM, 3, p 200, no 25).
