House. C16, extended C17 with some early C18 alterations, restored late C20.
Timber-frame with rendered infill on a coursed rubble plinth under a tile
roof. L-plan, C17 range to west, C16 range to south with lateral stack in
east wall. North front has C17 range to right of one storey with attic lit
by a gabled dormer over a 2-light C20 casement with plank weatherings. Gabled
range to left originally jettied with a 2-light casement to each floor. Entrance
to right of centre has a ledged and boarded door. Framing: the under-building
in light scantling three square panels high, the upper floor, two square panels
with curved angle braces. Gable truss has three. struts to collar. The barge-
boards are carved and cusped. Interior has an ogee-headed window in the west
wall of the C16 range, blocked by the C17 range. (RCHM, 3, pp 201-2, no 41).
