House. Late C16, with some mid-C19 and early C20 repairs. Timber-frame
with painted brick and rendered infill on a coursed rubble plinth under a
tile roof. Two framed bays aligned east/west with a lateral stack on north
wall of rubble, the brick shaft has projecting diagonal ribs. East front
to street is of two storeys, gabled and jettied. It has a 2-light casement
over a 3-light casement. Entrance in south wall. Framing: the moulded jetty
bressummer has extra support from C20 posts, and has C16 curved brackets
rising from pilasters. Wall-frame is two square panels high to first floor,
and close-studded with mid-rail to ground floor. Gable truss is close-studded
below the collar with two raking struts above. The side wall frames have close-
studding over square panels, with straight angle braces to the centre. (RCHM,
