House. Late C15 to early C16, repaired C17 and partly rebuilt early C19,
with some mid-C20 restoration. Timber-framed with rendered infill on
rendered plinth with tile roofs, extended in rendered brick with slate roof.
T-plan, C15 cross-wing of two framed bays aligned north/south, C19 range to
east. Central stack in C19 range has a brick shaft, stack in C15 range to
north of southern bay is of stone with rendered brick shaft. South front:
gabled C15 range to left of two storeys with a 4-light casement to first floor
of C17, ground floor has a 7-light oriel with C15 solid moulded sill. Tie-
beam and first floor jettied, with moulded soffit. C19 range to right of
two storeys with dentilled eaves of brick, two glazing bar sashes under
segmental heads. Entrance to left on ground floor has a plain wooden archi-
trave, a radially glazed fanlight and a 6-panel door. West front of C15
range is jettied with 5-light oriels to each floor with C15 moulded sill and
mullions, similarly the north wall is jettied with oriels. Framing is close-
studded with mid-rail, save first floor of south gable end which is C17 two
square panels high. Jetty on all three sides has a moulded bressummer and
is supported on curved brackets, as are the jettied tie-beams. Gable-end
trusses have king-posts with herringbone struts. Interior: south room on
ground floor has C15 moulded ceiling beams forming twelve panels, sub-divided
by moulded joists, including a dragon beam. The large fireplace in this room
has a restored depressed four-centred arch. First floor south room (with some
C20 partitions) has a C15 boarded ceiling divided into panels by moulded ribs
with carved bosses at the intersections. Entrance to this room has C17 panelled
