SO 4461 KINGSLAND CP LONGFORD (north side)

13/43 Vartry House


House. C16, extended early C19 with some early C20 alterations. Timber-
frame with rendered infill extended in painted brick with tile roof. Three
bays aligned north/south, that to north added in C19. Chimney stack to
north gable of original two bays, with brick shaft. South front of two
storeys with 2-light casement over a 3-light casement. Entrance in left-
hand wall with lean-to tiled canopy and half-glazed door. Framing exposed
in west wall, four square panels high, probably jettied to street originally.
C20 false framing on street gable. Interior has exposed chamfered and
stopped ceiling beams. (RCHM, 3, p 83, no 16).
