SO 4461 KINGSLAND CP LONGFORD (north side)

13/44 Westmead


House. Built 1622, refronted and extended late C18, with some mid-C20
restoration. Timber-frame with painted brick infill refronted in brick
with tile roof. Three bays aligned east/west with outshot to north, the
two bays to the east widened on south side. Main chimney stack to rear
of two eastern bays with brick shaft, also an external rubble stack with
brick shaft to west gable. South front of two storeys, one plus two
windows, all 3-light C20 casements. Ground floor similar, except a canted
bay window to the right. Entrance in left-hand gable with hipped tiled
canopy over C20 ornamental door. Framing: four square panels high, the
west gable truss with two struts to collar and V-struts in apex. Interior
has exposed chamfered and stopped ceiling beams. Reported date of 1622
not visible. (RCHM, 3, p 83, no 15).
