5/56 Lugg Mill

Corn mill. Early C18 with some mid-C19 repairs. Painted brick and coursed
rubble with corrugated iron roof. East front of two storeys with gable-lit
attic and brick coped verges. Gable ends supported by lean-to rubble buttresses.
Central loft door over central entrance approached by three stone steps. It
has a plain wooden architrave and the boarded door has applied mouldings. This
is flanked by two single-light casements under wider segmental heads. Water
wheel probably undershot on left-hand gable has been removed. Interior has
two overdriven stones on first floor. Most of the gearing has been lost,
but the main wooden shafts survive.
