House. C17, restored mid-C20. Timber-frame with rendered infill and tile
roof. L-plan, limbs extending to north and east, the latter slightly recessed.
Main stack placed laterally on north wall of east wing has a brick shaft, a
later stack also with brick shaft laterally on west wall of other wing.
South front: the gabled cross-wing to left of two storeys with two-storey
canted bay window, range to right of one storey with an attic lit by two
gabled dormers. Ground floor has a 3-light casement to right and entrance
to left. It has a plain wooden architrave, a flat canopy and a half-glazed
door. Framing: four square panels high with straight angle braces. The south
gable had three struts to collar with V-struts in the apex. Interior has
exposed chamfered and stopped ceiling beams. The entrance hall and the south
room of the cross-wing contain some re-set C17 panelling. (RCHM, 3, p 83, no 11).
