House. Mid-C16, with some C17, and late C19 alterations. Timber-frame
with painted brick infill, partly underbuilt in painted brick, with tile
roof, two framed bays aligned east/west, with lateral rubble stack on north
wall. Garden (east) front of two storeys with 3-light casement over a C19
bay window with hipped tiled roof. The gable end was jettied originally
(as was the other gable) and has a heavily moulded bressummer. Framing:
originally close-studded, which survives on north wall, wall-frames altered
elsewhere in C17 to four square panels high. East gable has close-studding
below the collar with V-struts in the apex and trenched purlins. Interior
has exposed chamfered and stopped ceiling beams on ground floor. (RCHM, 3,
