SO 4862 LUSTON CP MAIN STREET (west side)

GV II

House. Possibly C15, extended C17 with some mid-C19 alterations, restored
late C20. Timber-frame with painted brick and rendered infill on a painted
rubble plinth with slate roof. L-plan, with limbs to north and west. Internal
stack to east (front) wall with square ashlar shaft, and stack to centre of
rear wing. East front of two storeys with a 3-light casement to right, and
a 4-light casement to right in ground floor rubble wall. Main entrance in
left-hand (south) return front. Framing: four square panels high with straight
angle braces. Interior: the roof of the rear range has traces of smoke-
blackening which suggest an open hall. Ground floor ceiling an early C17
insertion with deep chamfers. (RCHM, 3, p 139, no 15).
