House, once used as school. Cl7, altered and extended early C18 with mid-
C19 alterations. Part timber-framed with brick and rendered infill on
rubble base and brick replacement walling, part handmade brick; plain tiled
roof with large brick ridge stack. T-plan; original part of two framed
bays aligned north/south with large intersecting brick range on west side
with large chimney forming probable lobby-entry plan. Single storey and
attic with cellar. Framing: three rows of square panels from sill to wall-
plate, collar and tie-beam trusses with struts and V-struts in apex.
South front elevation: main brick range has a 2-light C19 ground floor case-
ment and a ledged and battened door. Gable end of older part to right has
a ground floor C20 rectangular light and an attic window. It is said to
have been used as a school until the mid-C20. (RCHM, Herefs, Vol III, p 105).
