Farmhouse, now house. Probably C15, altered and extended in C16; restored
late C20. Timber-framed with rendered infill on rubble base; stone-tiled
roof laid in diminishing courses with dressed rubble stack to north side of
ridge. Cruck hall-house of three framed bays aligned east/west with through-
passage and inserted rubble chimney in central bay. A west wing was added in
the C16 which has since been demolished. Two storeys (probably divided into
two storeys in C16). Framin : full cruck truss with collar exposed at east
end. Three panels from sill to wall-plate with additional row of panels on
south side where roof pitch has been altered. C16 collar and tie-beam truss
with struts at west end. Windows are all C20 leaded casements (with plank
weatherings on ground floor). South front elevation: there are seven ground
floor 2-light windows and eight first floor 2-light windows. Entrance to right
of central bay has a partly-glazed C20 door. Present main entrance to rear
of central bay. Interior: the two intermediate cruck trusses survive; the
westernmost has an arch-braced collar and cusped V-strut. There are two rows
of large square panels at the base of the easternmost one with short solid
upper corner braces. The roof has two tiers of purlins and three tiers of
cusped wind-braces. The outer bays are floored and there is a large fire-
place in the west bay. There is also recorded to be some C17 panelling.
