Farmhouse. Early core possibly dating from the late C13 or early C14,

during mid-C19 and further C20 restoration. Timber-framed; square panelled
to earlier sections with decorative ornamental framing to C17 addition,
largely C20 infill, sandstone rubble plinth and part refacing, part brick
refacing, stone slate and corrugated metal roofs. Three-bay cruck hall
aligned north-west/south-east with large inserted axial stack. Cross-wing
adjoins to south-east end, further C17 wing and projecting porch also adjoin
at this end; further lateral and axial stacks. North-east entrance front:
single-storey hall to right with 5-light mullioned window and one 2-light
C19 casement window; gable end of two-storey C16 cross-wing to left of
hall with restored oriel window and tripartite sash window in stone refacing
to ground floor. Two storeys and attic to C17 cross-wing further to left
with small 4-light mullioned window in attic, 5-light mullioned window to
first floor and 4-light window to ground floor; gabled two-storey porch to
right with oriel window above open lower storey, temporary inner ledged door.
Interior of hall range reveals four largely complete cruck trusses with
traces of smoke blackening, some wind-braces remain. A small section of
plank and muntin panelling survives in the C16 wing. The C17 wing has
been largely reconstructed after storm damage. To the rear of the C16
cross-wing is a partly mutilated shaped doorhead.
