Farmhouse. C17 but incorporating part of a C14 building, remodelled
during late C18 or early C19. Square panelled timber-framed core, with
part brick infill and refacing. Sandstone rubble plinth and part
refacing, roughcast render to south front, Welsh slate roof. L-plan with
wings aligned east/west and north/south adjoining at south, large axial
stack and further lateral stacks. Entrance to south front. Single storey
and attic to east/west wing. Two storeys with cellar and attic to second
wing. South front: brick refacing to gable end of cross-wing to left with
two string courses, circular light to attic, single vertical glazing bar
sash window to first floor with 16-pane glazing bar sash window with
cambered head to ground floor, to right with 2-light casement window in
left of centre gabled dormer, 3-light casement window to left and 2-light
window to right of gabled porch, ledged door. A 4-light plain mullioned
window survives to rear. Interior of the east/west wing reveals part of
one cruck truss embedded against the central stack. Chamfered ceiling
beams with ogee stops.
