House and shop. Early C16 with C17 additions, altered during late C19.
Square-panelled timber-framing with wattle-and-daub infill on sandstone
rubble plinth; part Welsh slate and part Bradstone slate roof. Irregular
plan with earlier range aligned east/west and C17 wing added to this range
aligned north/south on the east side; further extended to south. Entrance
to west side, axial and lateral stacks. Two storeys and cellars. North front:
gable end of cross-wing to left with decorative bargeboard. Seven-light
mullioned window on first floor and large 3-light C19 canted bay window to
ground floor. Three-light window on first floor to right with similar canted
bay window to ground floor to right. Cellar entrance to lower left with
heavy ledged door with slit vents. The upper storey of the earlier wing
was originally jettied. (RCHM, Vol III, p 165, item 24).
