1/16 Old Laundry Cottage

Cottage- Probably late C17 to early C18 with later alterations. Timber-
frame with plaster and brick infill. Concrete tile roof. Brick end stacks,
one on sandstone rubble base. Rectangular two-bay plan aligned roughly
east/west. One storey and attic. South elevation has two windows, two mid-
C20 each of three lights set in two framed gables. Ground floor has two
contemporary casements. Glazed door to left of centre. Frame is three square
panels high from cill to wall-plate. Attached to right-hand side is timber-
framed lean-to. Interior noted as having heavy ceiling beams. (RCHM, Vol III,
p 8).
