west of Logaston
Common Farmhouse

Barn. Probably C17, with later alterations. Timber-frame clad in
weatherboards with corrugated iron roof. 3 + 3 + 3 bays aligned north/
south. Two levels. East elevation has a raking-top dormer to right-hand
side with ledged shutters. Two openings to former tallet on left-hand side.
Central wagon entry with ledged doors. Ground floor has square opening to
left-hand side and ledged door to left of wagon entry. To the right of the
last is a ledged stable door and two more ledged doors. West elevation has
porch with catslide roof to central threshing floor. Frame is three square
panels high from cill to wall-plate. Interior has trusses with triple angle
struts and others with queen struts. The central three bays have complete
rafters and trusses; the outer two have had'their rafters removed. Included
for group value.
