Farmhouse. Probably early C17 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble
plinth and timber-frame with brick and plaster infill largely roughcast.
Welsh slate roof with large sandstone and brick ridge stack and external
end stack of the same materials. Rectangular six-bay plan aligned north-
north-east/south-south-west. One storey and attic. East elevation has
four windows, 2-light early C20 glazing bar casements in gabled dormers.
Left gable and gable to right of centre have exposed framing with close-
studding on curved braces from collar. The left gable has a pair of spurs
on its curved braces. Gable to left of centre is roughcast, probably over
framing similar to the other two. Right-hand gable of painted brick,
probably early C20. Ground floor has two similar casements under left two
gables and ledged door, probably late C19 to right of centre. Second ledged
door to right-hand side leads into dairy. Attached to left is a full-height
wash house and bakery with another 2-light glazing bar casement, and a 9-pane
window, to the right of which is a ledged door. West elevation has framed
lean-to along southern portion of the building. South gable has lozenge
pattern formed by multiple scissor struts. Frame is three square panels high
from cill to wall-plate. Interior has flagged stone floors, run out chamfer
stops to ground floor ceiling beams and raking struts from collars of trusses.
Wash house and bakery has oven and copper both late C19, and interrupted tie-
beam truss with curved principals. Dairy has large salting stone. (RCHM,
