10/61 The Old Rectory
II
House. Mid-C18 with late C19 addition. Brick with sandstone rubble plinth
and hipped Welsh slate roof. Rectangular plan with central entrance and
stair well, axial stacks, faces south-east with later addition to south-west
side. Three storeys, string course and moulded cornice. South-east front:
central pedimented slightly forward break with blank oculus in the tympanum.
1:3:1 glazing bar sash windows, 6-pane windows to second floor and 12-pane
to first and ground floors. Central pedimented doorcase with Doric pilasters
and outer eared architrave to flanking sidelights, part-glazed door. Later
addition set back to left with similar glazing bar sash windows to all floors.
Interior altered but retains staircase with ramped handrail.
