4/18 Sunny Bank
Farmhouse. Early C18, altered and extended mid-C19. Coursed rubble with
some timber-framing, roughcast infill and weatherboarding. Stone-tiled
roof laid in diminishing courses with rubble ridge stack. Main three-bay
range aligned east/west with central chimney forming lobby entrance and
also external chimney with bread oven at east end. Single-bay C19 addition
at west end continuing-main roof line. Two storeys and attic with single-
course band at first floor level of original part at front. Framing: two
rows of square panels at first floor level of rear elevation. South front
elevation: irregular fenestration. Original part has a 3-light, a 2-light
and a single-light casement on the ground floor, three 2-light first floor
casements and a large gable at the right end with a 2-light attic window.
Main entrance has a flat canopy and a ledged and battened door. C19 bay
has a 2-light casement with a cambered head on both floors. (RCHM, III,
