Barn. Early to mid-C18. Part rubble, part timber-framed and weatherboarded
with corrugated iron roof, half-hipped at south end. Four bays aligned
roughly north/south; wagon bay with opposed cart entries and double doors
situated in second bay from south end. Ventilation slits in rubble wall at
south end. There is a lean-to outshut to the north-east. Interior: wall-
framing has long rectangular panels from sill to wall-plate and long straight
braces across the lower corners. Roof has a collar and tie-beam truss with
struts at the north end, a tie-beam truss with five large struts at the
south end and three intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts; three
tiers of trenched purlins. The barn is of substantial proportions and
situated close to Sunny Bank (qv). Included for group value.
