Farmhouse. Early C18 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions.
Handmade brick with some blue brick dressings and moulded stone plinth; two-
span plain tiled roof with brick end stacks, left end stack having offsets
and blue brick diaper patterning. Two storeys, attic and cellar with three-
course band at first floor level and two-course band at attic level (both
bands have blue brick header decoration) and modillion eaves cornice to
front. Three bays; windows have gauged flat heads and retain their mullioned-
and-transomed frames with moulded architraves. The central entrance has a
shell hood on moulded brackets, a moulded architrave and a C20 door. At
the right side of the house is a blocked doorway above which is set a Norwich
Union fire insurance mark. There is a rear C19 service wing and C20 lean-to
additions to both side elevations. Interior is recorded to retain its
original staircase. (RCHM, III, P 54, item 21).
