south-east of
Penlan Farmhouse and
adjoining outbuilding

GV II

Barn, now photographic studio. C17, with late C20 alterations. Timber-framed
and weatherboarded on rubble base with some rubble walling; stone-tiled roof
laid in diminishing courses partly replaced by machine tiles. Four framed
bays aligned north-west/south-east; wagon bay with opposed cart entries and
double doors situated in second bay from north-west end. There is a stable
door in the north-east elevation. Interior: wall-framing probably has three
panels from sill to wall-plate. An upper floor has been inserted throughout
and roof trusses not visible. The barn is prominently situated close to
Penlan Farmhouse and adjoining outbuilding (qv). Included for group value.
