House, formerly divided into two houses. Probably early C17, partly
rebuilt circa 1700 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations and additions.
Timber-framed with rendered infill on rubble base, partly rendered and
roughcast with slate roofs. One plus two framed bays aligned east/west;
external rubble chimney at east end, with tiled offsets, and also C19
external brick chimney with rebuilt stack at west end. Single storey and
attic with dormer. Framing: single-bay part has 2½ panels from sill to
wall-plate and a collar and tie-beam truss with struts exposed at the west
gable end. Two-bay part (probable circa 1700 rebuilding) has three panels
from sill to wall-plate and is constructed of scantling timber. No trusses
exposed. South front elevation: windows are C19 casements. Single-bay part
has a 3-light and a 2-light ground floor window. Two-bay part has a 3-light
and a single-light ground floor window, a gabled dormer with 2-light window,
and the main entrance which has a C19 ledged and battened door and a plank
weathering (continued above the ground floor windows). C20 single-storey
flat-roofed extension at rear. Interior: stop-chamfered main ceiling beam
in east bay.
