5/11 Birchley Mill

Corn mill on Cadmore Brook. Probably C18 on older site, altered mid-C19.
Rubble, heightened in brick with weatherboarded gables and plain tiled roof.
Rectangular plan with overshot wheel situated on south side. Two storeys
and attic. West gable end has large archway and small doorway on the ground
floor, a first floor window with a cambered head and a metal casement attic
window. There is a small square ground floor window on the north side, two
small doors on the south side and a loft door in the rear east end. Interior:
the machinery appears to have all survived. Access to the upper floor levels
was not possible.
