Shown on OS Map as Court House.
Farmhouse. C17, altered mid-C19. Part timber-framed on rubble base with
rendered and brick infill and brick re-facing, part rubble and part brick
with plain tiled roof and two brick ridge stacks. Probably four bays (two
of which are framed) aligned roughly north/south. Two storeys and attic with
dormer. Framing: exposed at gable ends and west side. Three rows of square
panels at first floor level. Long straight braces across lower corners at
north gable end and collar and tie-beam truss above with two collars, five
struts to lower collar, four to upper collar and V-strut in apex. South end
truss has single collar and four struts. East front elevation: there is a
6-pane sash and a 12-pane sash on the ground floor; both have cambered heads.
On the first floor are three 2-light casements with cambered heads, a 3-light
C20 casement and a square window opening. Main entrance has a C19 timber porch
with hipped lead roof and trellis infill and the doorway has a cambered head
and 6-panelled door (four raised and fielded panels, two glazed). There is
also a ledged and battened door at the southern end. Gabled dormer with
2-light casement to rear. (VCH, IV, p 317).
