Former rectory, mid C19 red brick with stone dressings and plain tile roof with
ornamental cresting. Cluster of 4 tall ridge stacks on South side, triple stack on
North East gable and North side wall double stack. Tudor style, square plan with
projecting North East wing. Two storey and attic. Iron lattice windows with
hoodmoulds over throughout. Various gables all coped and shouldered with midway
kneelers and finials. Brick corbelled eaves. Main South front has gable to left and
hipped dormer to right. Ground floor windows are mullion and transom, 1st floor are
mullioned. 2 window range. At South East corner a gabled porch with Dowdeswell
arms. West front is similar with gable to left but a 2-storey bay window with hipped
roof to right. East side has 2 gables with lower kitchen range running East from
right gable. Listed for group value with Church of Saint Peter.
