House and attached former stable C16 or C17, extended to rear in C18 and heavily
restored c1983. Timber-frame, regular brickinfill panels, continous tiled roofs, two
truncated local type external stone chimneys to rear of left range and
right of cross range. T-plan; stable block extension, now garaging, to
rear left. 2 storeys and 3 bays to each range, late C20 6- and 8-pane
casements regularly placed; 2 entrances; at front junction of the 2 ranges
through C20 door; to rear side of extended dry stone stack of cross range.
Framing: left range is 4 panels high from cill to eaves; cross range, 5
panels high. One area of herringbone patterning 3 panels high by 2 wide
occupies conspicuous centre bay of left range. Rear extension is 3 bays
long, elevations are timber-framed to yard and rubble to road frontage.
Interior: no evidence of cross-passage; heavy mantel beams to 2 fireplaces
that correspond with external stacks.
