1/105 Lane End Cottage

House. Possibly late C17 - early C18, extended and partially cased in C19.
Rubble, timber-frame with brick and plaster panels, tiled roofs, external
stack to corner of 'L' plan. Left hand bay of principal 4-bay range now
cased in rubble which extends also to first bay of 3-bay extension at right
angles to left. One storey and attic, 3 bays to left and 4 to right, regular
fenestration: c1975 casements throughout with 2 weatherboarded gables to each
wing. Entrance to rear of left wing via late C20 open porch. Framing panels
are mostly 3 high from cill to wall-plate, wavy and thin but exceptionally
so to rear of right hand range where they are 4 panels high probably indicating
the last vernacular addition. Rubble casing'of the junction of the 2 wings
runs out peculiarly part of the way over a ground floor segmental window head
of the left hand range.
