SO 74 NW MATHON RURAL CP -

1/124 Town House Farmhouse and
attached byre
-

GV II

Cottage farmhouse and attached byre. Perhaps C16 or C17, extended in C18 and
C19. Timber-frame, plaster panels, slate roof, external local type stack
to rear in angle with extension. 2 storeys, originally one storey and attic,
4 bays, one metal casement to each of 2 right hand bays and to left bay,
similar casements to each of first floor bays except the right hand where
instead of a window there is irregular and patching framing, C20 door under
contemporary gabled porch leads to cross-passage. The area of irregular
framing and right hand gable framing indicate where the eaves have been
raised by one panel. To the left a slightly lower byre with 4 even vertical
studs set quite close, the entrance to which is from the rear. The byre has
a wall-plate corresponding to that of the main part before it was raised.
